Culture Bank Core Facility

This tissue culture/cell biology facility is located at the Robert Ho Building. This facility was established by Dr. Nelly Auersperg, the world leader in the culture of ovarian surface epithelium. The cell culture models of ovarian surface epithelium are used to study both normal ovarian and transformed ovarian surface epithelial cells and monitor response to therapies. This lab has distributed several hundred cultures of immortalized cells worldwide and continues to distribute over 100 samples annually to study putative oncogenes, tumour suppressors, and other aspects of ovarian cancer biology and pathology.
